Gabbie And Jacklyn’s Winter Jam Adventures!

By  |

Staff member Gabbie Brown and I walked into the Sears Centre Arena in Hoffman Estates for Winter Jam almost 4 hours before it began.  We had the privilege of interviewing OBB and Royal Tailor.  OBB was first and the trio were so energetic and enjoyed our game of “Who is most likely.”  Royal Tailor played WinterJam Pictionary well and guessed it correct on both tries! We saw RED do “sound check” which was really checking pyro technics I was blown away by them!

The show started off with Capital Kings, all of the girls in the audience seemed to love them.  Next up was OBB. If you haven’t heard of them, you will. The trio are brothers from Georgia, Nich, Zach, and Jacob performed “All I Need Is You, Come On Home, and Wild Fire.”  They got a great response from the sold out crowd!  I was surprised on, how on pitch Zach’s vocals were and how true to their record it sounds like.  Jason Castro went on the stage and all I could hear were screams and see him smiling ear to ear.  He has come so far since his American Idol days.

Royal Tailor I had heard of before coming to the show and knew one of their songs. I started dancing in the photo pit while taking pictures and I literally could not have stopped. With catchy tunes and incredible heartfelt lyrics this band is sure to take over the world one day! Lead singer Tauren really blew my mind with his round off back-handspring and all of his dancing.  DJ also brought it with his guitar solos running down the cat walk.

Next up  Sidewalk Prophets they knew how to put on a show and get the audience’s attention.  NEWSONG brought down the house with their vocals.  The entire arena gave them multiple standing ovations.  Jamie Grace was the cutest thing I’ve seen and had some wise words for girls out there.  She performed without a band only her and her guitar it was raw and perfect.  TobyMac came out to collaborate with her on “Hold Me.”  RED brought down the arena.  Their hard rock mixed with their pyrotechnics and lasers made everyone just look with mouths wide open.  It was a incredible production.  Release The Panic was the crowd favorite ending it with a sonic boom that made me legitimately jump out of my seat to laughs from four security guards and fans around me.  Matthew West I had never heard of before but instantly was serenaded by his vocals.  Last up was TobyMac, Gabbie and I had a ball dancing to him and his band, complete with a drum line! We even went on stage during the last song and danced on stage with the man himself!  It was so surreal to see what all of these incredible musicians see every night!
