Elle King is ready to take the ACM Awards stage by storm!

An Epic Duet Performance

Elle King and Miranda Lambert will be kicking off the 2021 ACMs with a performance of “Drunk (And I Don’t Wanna Go Home).” King laughed, “Whoever’s idea this was for us to start the show is cool, they know what’s up. It’s definitely awesome to start it with such a fun bang.”

“Looking at the list of performers and everyone who is going to be a part of the show is so awesome,” she added. “So I feel really lucky and honored to be a part of it in any way, let alone opening the show. You’re gonna get a lot of Elle King and a lot of Miranda Lambert and a lot of sequins, that’s all I can really tell you. The rest is gonna have to be a surprise.”

King hasn’t done many performances in 2020 due to the pandemic. This feels big because I haven’t really done much for like over a year,” she explained. “To get to kind of come out with such a bang and to be doing it with a friend – there’s nobody cooler or more fun than Miranda Lambert. Our outfits are wild, the song is still ridiculous to me, in the best way. I’m really excited. I love my band, my band are my best friends. I know that everyone has been like cheesin’, grinning ear to ear. It’s just an exciting time.”

Elle King On What Fans Can Expect

“This is the first time I’ve been let back on TV in a long time so it’s gonna definitely not be something you wanna miss,” she teased. “I am pregnant as ever and the fact that I’m going to be able to get myself into what I’m wearing is a miracle in it of itself. So you’re gonna have to watch and see how many sequins I pop off with this belly.”

Elle King is also excited to enjoy music and watch her peers perform. I’m a big champion for Dierks Bentley, I love him so much,” she gushed. “He is just the most wonderful performer and he is such an amazing person that I always got to stop what I’m doing when I hear Dierks in the grocery store or see him on TV. And then, my favorite, Ashley McBryde. She never lets you down. She’s the coolest, she’s the greatest. I love her music, I hope she wins and I’m gonna be rooting on for her and I can’t wait to see her performance.”
