Patrick Stump Surprises When We Were Young Fest Crowd With Cobra Starship and Motion City Soundtrack Collabs

Surprise! Patrick Stump made not one, but two surprise performances at When We Were Young Fest.

The annual emo festival took place on Saturday, October 19 at The Las Vegas Festival Grounds. Although Fall Out Boy was not due to perform until their headlining set, the FOB front man stopped by his collaborators’ sets to surprise the audiences. With so many collaborators on this year’s festival lineup, there was sure to be some epic collaborations.

Patrick Stump and Cobra Starship Perform ‘Kiss My Sass’

After more than a decade away, Cobra Starship has officially made their return to music. The “Good Girls Go Bad” hitmakers treated this as their major comeback set. When they began to perform “Kiss My Sass,” Stump took the stage to duet with lead singer, Gabe Saporta. The Purple Stage crowd went absolutely wild.Fans will recall that Stump collaborated with Cobra Starship producing their 2007 record, ¡Viva la Cobra!. Additionally, he acted as the featured guest vocalist on “Kiss My Sass.”

Patrick Stump and Motion City Soundtrack Perform ‘Everything is Alright’

Patrick Stump sure had a busy When We Were Young Fest. After surprising Cobra Starship’s crowd, Stump made his way over to Motion City Soundtrack’s set. Stump was featured in background vocals on “Everything is Alright,” off of MCS’ 2005 album, Commit This to Memory.

The crowd was audibly shocked and began to scream along to the classic track. The performance ended with Stump hugging all of the band members before rushing off stage.
