Xana Has No Horror Story to Tell on New Single Off Upcoming Third Album

By  |

Canadian singer-songwriter Xana continues the rollout of her upcoming third studio album, which finally has a name and a release date!

Today, the singer-songwriter returned with “Horror Story Of the Week,” offering another 4-minute gateway into the creative universe surrounding her forthcoming record, Where Else Would I Go? which she just announced will be out on March 19, 2027.

At first glance with its ominous title, “Horror Story Of the Week” sounds like an invitation to revisit heartbreak and emotional distress. But with her latest release, Xana is offering a clever twist and refreshing alternative to a painful experience: the lack of one. Instead of chaos, “Horror Story Of the Week” explores healing in its purest form, from its earlier stages when it’s still raw and unfamiliar and you’ve got no clue what it’s supposed to feel like, to its later stages when it settles and peace quietly replaces pain.

“Horror Story of the Week” is what I consider to be the conceptual umbrella of the album, exploring the strange disorientation that comes with finally reaching a state of peace and relief, only to wonder… where the hell am I supposed to go now?,” the singer shared on her Substack channel. “She acts as an exposition, a surrenderance, and an end (of sorts). A dairy entry cataloguing my mental state over the past couple years, in all its quiet bliss and comforting discomforts.”

And Xana’s newfound perspective is fully on display in the track’s accompanying video, which she directed herself, with the help of cinematographer Mia Teodocio.

At the end of the video, fans get a peak at Xana’s little “carnival,” a place where her storytelling finds solace in every corner. And knowing how much visuals have played an integral part of the singer’s larger creative vision, we couldn’t have expected anything less.

This carnival town is also the theme of her new website, which is now fully interactive and allows fans to be on the look out for future tour dates, listen to snippets of upcoming songs, look at exclusive photos and more.

“Horror Story of The Week” thus follows “711” in what seems to be well-prepared, months-long album rollout, which we cannot wait to experience. Needless to say, we don’t quite know where else Xana is heading, but we’re right behind her!
