Patrick Stump Gives Live Debut of ‘Spidey and His Amazing Friends’: WATCH

By  |

Patrick Stump gave his first ever live performance of “Spidey and His Amazing Friends” theme song!

On Friday (March 22), Fall Out Boy performed at New York City’s Madison Square Garden. The show was part of their So Much For Stardust 2our. During the concert, the lead singer surprised fans by performing the Marvel Disney Junior theme song in which he wrote.

Stump spoke to the audience prior to playing the song acoustically about the band member’s side projects over the years. He explained that he too suffered from imposter syndrome with some of his solo work. He wishes that he could go back and tell his younger self that he can do anything.

“If I could tell 8-year-old me that I would get to write the song that I’m about to play… it would blow his little mind. I don’t think I’ve ever played this one live… let’s see how this goes,” Stump teased before launching into the tune.

The Story Behind Patrick Stump and ‘Spidey and His Amazing Friends’ Theme Song

Patrick Stump wrote, produced, and performed the theme song for the Disney Junior animated series, Spidey and His Amazing Friends. Stump also acts as the composer and songwriter for the show based on the beloved Marvel superheroes.

“When I was approached to write the music for ‘Marvel’s Spidey and his Amazing Friends,’ I was first just excited to hear that Disney Junior was doing this show,” Stump said. “Secondly, I think it took me all of 10 minutes to say yes and start writing the theme song in my head. As a lifelong Marvel fan, this is a dream come true for me, and I can’t wait for kids and families, including my own kids, to see the show when it premieres this summer.”
