Lady Gaga Releases Powerful New Music Video…Til It Happens To You

The incredibly talented Lady Gaga released a powerful new music video for her song ‘Til It Happens To You’, written by Diane Warren.

‘Til It Happens To You’ is the theme song to the film documentary “The Hunting Ground”, which was released earlier this year and has been shown in numerous college campuses around the country.

Some of the lyrics in the song includes, “Til your world burns…Til you’re at the end…Til you’re standing in my shoes…You don’t know how it feels, til it happens to you”.

The music video highlights college students who are victims of campus rape.

In the music video. it is stated that one in five college women will be sexually assaulted this year, unless something changes.

The four victims of campus rape featured in this music video have their stories shared. Through the black and white imaging we see everything from the victims having a smile on their face, getting raped, going through a stage of depression where they feel worthless, “Sometimes I hate myself”…to them finally taking actions by telling their story, and seeking help.

The message of this music video is very clear, but the song itself is applicable to anyone going through a hard time, whether it’d be someone suffering from suicidal thoughts, depression , bullying, self-harm, or even just feeling alone.
