For King and Country Spotlight!

By  |
Christian pop duo, For King & Country, has just released their latest album Run Wild. Live Free. Love Strong. last week and it’s a good one. Based in Nashville, these brothers started their careers doing background vocals for their sister, Rebecca St. James, and various other bands across the country. After graduation the brothers decided to create their own band and released their first EP in 2008 called “A Tale of Two Towns”. In 2009 they signed with Warner Music Group and changed their band name to “For King & Country” after a cry that English soldiers would say in battle. And so their mission became to lay down their lives for their King and their country. This year was a big year for the duo for they toured with Casting Crowns in the spring and released their album in the fall.
The first track of the album is Run Wild.  Starting with a piano intro, the song reminds me so much of Imagine Dragons surprisingly.  I think it’s a similar tone of voice that makes me put connections together!  But my favorite song, maybe because i’m cheesy, is This Is Love.  Pop isn’t the first word that comes into my head when I listen to this song, or the album in general, but after listening to it a few times it is very poppy but easy to listen to.  A lot of pop music pushes vocals or uses too many computer generated noises, but I think For King & Country have found a perfect placement for this album.  Check out Run Wild. Live Free. Love Strong. now!  You can buy the album on itunes or even stream it on spotify.  Or if you’re like me and like having a physical copy, you can order it from their website.  The boys are also on tour right now and you can check out those dates here.
