“exile” Lyrics by Taylor Swift and Bon Iver

[Verse 1: Bon Iver]
I can see you standing honey
With his arms around your body
Laughing but the joke’s not funny at all
And it took you five whole minutes
To pack us up and leave me with it
Holding all this love out here in the hall

[Chorus: Taylor Swift and Bon Iver]
I think I’ve seen this film before
And I didn’t like the ending
You’re not my homeland anymore
So what am I defending now?
You were my town, now I’m in exile
Seeing you out
I think I’ve seen this film before

[Verse 2: Taylor Swift]
I can see you staring honey
Like he’s just your understudy
Like you’d get your knuckles bloody for me
Second, third, and hundredth chances
Balancing on breaking branches
Those eyes add insult to injury

[Chorus: Taylor Swift]
I think I’ve seen this film before
And I didn’t like the ending
I’m not your problem anymore
So who am I offending now?
You were my crown, now I’m in exile
Seeing you out
I think I’ve seen this film before

So I’m leaving out the side door

[Bridge: Bon Iver and Taylor Swift]
So step right out, there is no amount
Of crying, I can do for you
All this time we always walked a very thin line
You didn’t even hear me out
(Didn’t even hear me out)
You never gave a warning sign (I gave so many signs)
All this time, I never learned to read your mind (Never learned to read my mind)
I couldn’t turn things around (You never turn things around)
Cause you never gave a warning sign (I gave so many signs)
So many signs, so many signs
You didn’t even see the signs

[Chorus: Taylor Swift and Bon Iver]
I think I’ve seen this film before
And I didn’t like the ending
You’re not my homeland anymore
So what am I defending now?
You were my town, now I’m in exile
Seeing you out
I think I’ve seen this film before
So I’m leaving out the side door

[Bridge: Bon Iver and Taylor Swift]
So step right out, there is no amount
Of crying I can do for you
All this time we always walked a very thin line
You didn’t even hear me out
(Didn’t even hear me out)
You never gave a warning sign (I gave so many signs)
All this time, I never learned to read your mind (Never learned to read my mind)
I couldn’t turn things around (You never turn things around)
Cause you never gave a warning sign (I gave so many signs)
So many signs, so many signs
You didn’t even see the signs

[Outro: Taylor Swift and Bon Iver]
So many signs, so many signs, so many signs
You never gave a warning sign
You never gave a warning sign

All About folklore

“Surprise! Tonight at midnight I’ll be releasing my 8th studio album, folklore; an entire brand new album of songs I’ve poured all of my whims, dreams, fears, and musings into,” Taylor tweeted on Thursday.

“Most of the things I had planned this summer didn’t end up happening,” she wrote, seemingly referencing the cancellation of her Lover Festivals. “But there is something I hadn’t planned on that DID happen.”

“Before this year I probably would’ve overthought when to release this music at the ‘perfect’ time, but the times we’re living in keep reminding me that nothing is guaranteed,” Taylor added. “My gut is telling me that if you make something you love, you should just put it out into the world. That’s the side of uncertainty I can get on board with. Love you guys so much.”

In addition, due to her social media posts and new filter, Swift’s new era includes lowercase letters and sepia tones. Furthermore, it seems to be a whimsical and simplistic era for T. Swift.

folklore will have 16 songs on the standard edition, but the physical deluxe editions will include a bonus track “the lakes.” Because this is my 8th studio album, I made 8 deluxe CDs & 8 deluxe vinyls,” Taylor wrote.
