Alabama Luella Barker has grown up before our eyes! Now at eleven (she’s already cooler than us, we know!), Barker is starting on her own musical journey. Get ready to be on quite the ride because this is just the beginning!

SRS: When did you realize you wanted to be a singer?
ALB: I always used to dance and sing when I was younger and that hasn’t changed. It’s fun!

SRS: How would you best describe your musical style?
ALB: Chill and fun!

SRS: Who are your biggest musical inspirations?
ALB: My dad, Beyoncé and Rihanna. Right now I’m listening to a lot of Jhene Aiko and Janine.

SRS: How do you balance your career and school?
ALB: I go to a really great school that lets us choose our own creative projects. I’m lucky!

SRS: Has your dad, Travis Barker, ever given you any music advice?
ALB: To always keep practicing!

SRS: You’ve been featured on Blink-182’s “She’s Out of Her Mind” for music and piano. Will you continue to play and or write for your own music?
ALB: That wasn’t really supposed to happen, I just went in there and started playing and they were recording me then my dad told me that they were going to put it on the album. It was so cool. But yes! I’ve always been in the studio with my dad and it’s fun to start working on my own projects.

SRS: Absolutely love that you lead a cruelty free and vegan lifestyle. Why is that important to you? And what advice would you give to someone who wants to become vegan?
ALB: I’ve always loved animals. If you wouldn’t eat a cat or dog, why would you eat a pig.
