Florence Welch on Meeting Taylor Swift Before ‘Florida!!!’

In a candid revelation to The Sunday Times in May 2015, Florence Welch disclosed her introduction to Taylor Swift, facilitated by mutual acquaintances. Welch, acclaimed lead vocalist of Florence + the Machine, admitted seeking out Swift for relationship guidance, acknowledging the pop icon’s astute insights into matters of the heart.

“I know it sounds cliché, but she’s good to talk to about boys,” Welch remarked. She emphasized Swift’s perceived acumen in romantic affairs. Reflecting on their interaction, Welch fondly recounted an occasion when she attended a post-Met Gala soirée hosted by the “Reputation” singer.

“At the afterparty, there were luminaries like Lena Dunham, Spike Jonze, Reese Witherspoon, and Zooey Deschanel,” Welch reminisced, describing a relaxed atmosphere filled with pizza and lively conversations about romance. Welch’s decision to solicit Swift’s advice on matters of love stemmed from her proactive approach to seeking counsel. After all, she already consulted numerous individuals, including taxi drivers, prior to the gathering.
