Riot Fest Postpones 2020 Event; Announces Partial 2021 Lineup

By  |

Not so surprisingly, Riot Fest has announced that this year’s event is postponed to 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In a turn of events that could only happen in 2020, they also shared the first wave of 2021’s artists a year and three months early! For anyone who knows Riot Fest, the announcement of their lineup every year is much anticipated and usually saved until the very last minute.

To add to the excitement, My Chemical Romance has remained a headliner for the festival next year, which will take place in Chicago at Douglas Park September 17-19. This news is especially important, as the band ended their six year hiatus at the end of 2019 and fans were beyond excited for their reunion. Other headliners include The Smashing Pumpkins, Run the Jewels, and Pixies.

Riot Fest will also be holding their first ever Thursday Preview Party on September 16th. This night will feature secret sets by some event exclusive bands, as well as an early opportunity to ride the famed ferris wheel and check out merch. If you purchased a ticket for Riot Fest 2020, it will be valid for 2021. You’ll have access to the Thursday Preview Party if you have a 2020 ticket, or purchase one for 2021 in the next 30 days. Tickets are on sale now. Check out the full first wave lineup below and more information on Riot Fest’s blog.
