Simple Plan brought the nostalgia and tunes to Disney’s D23 Expo.

The bi-annual conference began on Friday (August 9) at the Anaheim Convention Center. The event is a one-of-a-kind, multi-day fan experience showcasing the very best in creative storytelling and unrivaled innovation from across the facets and companies of Disney.

Unlike their Vans Warped Tour days, they took the Spotlight Stage at 4 PM to perform all of their hits. They also treated fans to their reimagined cover of The Lion King’s “Can You Feel The Love Tonight.” The band’s recording will be on Disney’s upcoming punk compilation record. The album will feature bands giving their own twists to classic Disney hits.

“We grew up watching Disney movies with our families and now we get to enjoy them with our own kids, so it’s pretty amazing to have been invited to be on this album,” the band said in a press release.

This later became part of Disney-owned channels’ rerun packages. Over the years, Simple Plan had numerous Disney moments and crossovers. Additionally, they regularly perform at Walt Disney World’s Epcot as part of their music festivals.
