PREMIERE: “Dancing with Sue” By Wyatt C. Louis

By  |

“”Dancing With Sue” is a song that cherishes many memories and feelings, a song yourself could instantly relate to. As I look back on the past, I see an experience of moving to a new city and cutting teeth into an eclectic music scene. It’s like learning to walk again, but this time it’s much easier. Stumbling into a very supportive arts community, I was able to grow organically into the artist I am today. This song generates a sense of peace, by gathering family and friends together. I give thanks to everyone I have met so far on this wonderful ride.

Phenix Warren, Brett McCrady, Kyle Donauer, Keath Mueller, and Maxwell McFadyen brought this idea to life. Dancing With Sue gives you a glimpse into a bigger, colourful picture.

“Dancing with Sue” is a song about everlasting love and the playful innocence of youth. It’s about nostalgia, and yearning for the times in our lives where we feel the happiest and most free. Freedom is so effortlessly captured in dance, the freedom of expression, movement, and emotion. I have powerful female teachers in my life that have taught me to dance, to be strong, and to be free in my own way. Sue, the girl in the red dress, represents these teachers for me. The chorus bounces between the sun and the moon, representing the sun’s influence and strength, and the moon’s admiration and powerful feminine energy. I wanted “Dancing with Sue” to feel light and playful. It’s a song that makes me happy, and I hope it makes you happy too.”
