What is the story behind your latest single?
The theme behind “New Ways” is about me navigating the patterns of life and dealing with disappointment. Sometimes in life we take hit after hit and we can let that exacerbate us or turn those hits into stepping stones.

When did you realize music was your calling?
It was about halfway through college, and I just started writing classical songs on the piano. When I realized I was at least decent at it I just kept creating.

How would you best describe your sound?

Piano-driven soulful pop.

What do you hope listeners take away from your music?
I hope that it inspires listeners to keep going in following their dreams. I hope it inspires them to never leave a stone unturned; to learn from the hard times, and not let them bring them down.

Who are your dream collaborators?
Chaz Bundwick of Toro y Moi, Kanye West, and George Lewis Jr. of Twin Shadow

Is there a possibility to perform your new music live?
Yes I’ll be doing a stripped down set on June 14th and possibly a full-produced set on July 5th both in Austin.

What are some albums that really shaped you as an artist?

Pet Sounds by the Beach Boys, The Year of Hibernation by Youth Lagoon, Forget by Twin Shadow, Manners by Passion Pit

What are some of your contenders for best song of 2019?
Unbearably White by Vampire Weekend, The Barrel by Aldous Harding, and When Am I Gonna Lose You by Local Natives. We’re only halfway through the year and there’s been some awesome new releases
