Kat Graham and Candice King Stop Backdrop From Falling on Nina Dobrev: Watch

Candice King and Kat Graham saved the day by stopping a backdrop from falling on Nina Dobrev.

Is this The Vampire Diaries in real life? Bonnie and Caroline saving Elena? Fans shared the sentiment on social media after a video of the frightening moment went viral on TikTok.

The actresses reunited during Epic Con’s I Was Feeling Festive convention on Saturday, December 6. The event took place in Covington, GA., the town where they shot the show, known as “Mystic Falls.”

During a question and answer panel, the trio spoke about their time filming the 8-season show. Writer Carina MacKenzie moderated the panel, which featured backdrops behind the four women. When Dobrev was answering a question, the crowd shouted, “Watch out!” Meanwhile, King pushed Dobrev off of her chair to avoid being hit, and Graham grabbed the first backdrop before also grabbing the second backdrop that fell seconds after the first.

“Not today, not today!” Graham exclaimed. “I don’t want to see any Bonnie saves the day memes.” MacKenzie added, “You guys just moved so fast!”

“I thought it was a spider… I was taking my jacket off like ahhh,” Dobrev joked. “I’m too old for this s–t,” MacKenzie told the crowd. “You guys, the show is still trying to kill us!” King concluded.

All of the actors were safe and laughed off the incident. Seemingly some of the staff came on stage to correct the backdrops. Ironically, the topic of conversation before the backdrop fell was about an on set injury, which they laughed about.
