Harrison Ford Accepts Disney Legend Award: Watch
Harrison Ford received his Disney Legend award to an epic standing ovation!
Ford was the first of the night to receive the award by The Walt Disney Company CEO Bob Iger. The audience began cheering before Iger could finish his introduction. Ford then told the audience that he was honored to be a storyteller.
“I love the life you’ve given me,” he told the crowd. “I love the people that I’ve had the opportunity to work with. Nobody does anything in this business for long. We work in collaboration, no matter what who we are and what we’re doing.”
The awards ceremony took place at the Honda Center in Anaheim, Calif. on Sunday (August 11). This is at the 2024 bi-annual D23 Expo. Other Disney Legend inductions tonight include Jamie Lee Curtis, Miley Cyrus, Angela Bassett, among others. Disney Legends are honored for their impact on The Walt Disney Company over the years. Cyrus will become the youngest recipient ever at just 31 years old.
Harrison Ford’s Life Work and Disney Legend Status
The acclaimed American actor and film producer whose career spans several decades. He began his acting career in the late 1960s. Ford gained widespread recognition and fame for his portrayal of Han Solo in the original “Star Wars” trilogy. This role that cemented his place in cinematic history. He further solidified his status as a Hollywood icon with his role as the adventurous archaeologist Indiana Jones in the “Indiana Jones” series. Ford has demonstrated his versatility by taking on various roles in films such as “Blade Runner,” “The Fugitive,” and “Witness,” for which he received an Academy Award nomination. Ford remains one of the most beloved and enduring figures in the film industry.
Harrison’s next project is Captain America: Brave New World. He will join the Marvel Cinematic Universe as President Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross. The film will debut in 2025. Now, Harrison Ford is an official Disney Legend!
