Halsey Launches Multidimensional Makeup Brand, ABOUT-FACE

By  |

Ever the multifaceted artist, signer-songwriter Halsey has set on yet another adventure: her brand new makeup line.

For years and years, Halsey’s life has revolved around making music and touring. However, when the COVID-19 pandemic hit, the singer was forced to put this side of her life on pause and thus to focus on an other. Just like that, in a span of a few months in 2020, Ashley Frangipane launched the Black Creators Fund Initiative and became a New York Times best-selling author with her collection of poetry, I Would Leave Me If I Could.

Now, the versatile artist is ready to make the most of 2021, and she’s decided to kick the year off by launching something she’s worked hard on in the last 2 years: her very own vegan and cruelty-free makeup brand, ABOUT-FACE.

Very much like the artist herself has done for years on her different tours, photoshoots and music videos, About-Face encourages everyone to experiment with colours and textures in order to find peace and joy within their self-expression.

“as many of you may already know that i have done my own makeup for concerts, red carpets, magazine covers, and music videos alike for a long time,” the artist shared on Instagram. “it is one of my greatest loves, but i have always stood firm in the belief that makeup is about feeling cool—not looking perfect. i have worked tirelessly on this for years with an incredible team and i hope you feel my DNA all over it.”

About-Face aims to encourage people from all places in all stages of life to explore their creativity. The first collection of products is thus available in at least three different shades, and the promotional pictures feature a vast variety of people and skin types.

“Inspired by and for our diverse and artistic community, we create makeup made with integrity and intention, for all stages of life,” reads the intro on the website. “We are built on the truth that no one is just one thing — humans are weird, complex, and entirely beautiful because of it. Everyone has their own messy, mad, and personal method to becoming our greater selves.
So, we make products that are hard working over hype, designed to celebrate every version of us. The ones we end up being, and all of the experimental versions along the way. We hand over the reins, giving everyone the power to represent themselves and celebrate one another — because who knows what will happen when you lean into every dimension of you?

Make u(p) without rules.
Made for the many of you”
