Ferris Fest Is Coming to Chicago!

By  |

“Bueller, Bueller, Bueller…” This year marks the 30th anniversary of everyone’s favorite rebel without a cause skipping school and having the best day of everyone’s lives, in Ferris Bueller’s Day Off! In honor of America’s hero, May 20-22 will mark the first ever Ferris Fest, spanning between Lake Forest, IL and Chicago, IL. The main event will be a screening of the film and Q&A hosted by Richard Roeper, with appearances by Cindy Pickett & Lyman Ward (Mrs. & Mr. Bueller, themselves), as well as Jonathan Schmock (“I’m suggesting that you leave before I have to get snooty!”) at the John and Nancy Hughes Theater in Lake Forest. There will also be a live recreation of the iconic parade performance of “Twist and Shout” and a 2-day bus tour stopping by all of the filming locations. Since Chicago was John Hughes’ favorite place to film, the tour will also pay visits to the high school and church from Hughes’ other classics, The Breakfast Club and Sixteen Candles. One of the coolest things to see, however, is an exact replica of Ferris’ bedroom, which will be featured throughout the weekend! Tickets are available on a full weekend package, as well as daily options. For more information and to reserve your spot to help “Save Ferris,” visit the festival’s website here!
