Ariana Grande Shares How She First Discovered ‘The Voice’

Ariana Grande had a unique way of discovering The Voice for the first time.

In a new interview promoting Season 21, where she is slated to become a coach, she spoke about her experience being a fan.

“Of course I’ve watched the show and I think it is so much fun,” she said.

Additionally, she didn’t need any help once she began. Her fellow coaches revealed that she already knew how to play the game.

“It’s so happy and infectiously joyous,” she continued. “I also am super moved by how brilliant the performers are and by their voices and the opportunity to work with artists who dream of doing what we get to do is a really fun and cool thing. I feel like I’ve been doing this for a long time now and maybe I will have some sort of thing to say that will help them execute their dreams.”

Ariana Grande on Discovering ‘The Voice’:

Ariana Grande is no stranger to the NBC series. She previously performed on the show. This season she will take the red chair of Nick Jonas. Jonas is currently on his Remember This Tour with the Jonas Brothers.

“I performed on The Voice a few times and that was so much fun,” she recalled. It was in that moment that she found out how the show worked.

“I didn’t really know what it meant [at first]. I saw these chairs and I was like, ‘Why are they sitting there?’ They were like, ‘Oh well people sing and if they like the voice they turn around. And I was like, ‘That’s the best concept I’ve ever heard in my entire life.’

Finally, now that she’s on the other side of the show, she believes she has what it takes to advise her team.

“I think the thing that will make me a great coach will be my excitement,” she shared. “I’m brand new here you know I’m brand new and I’ve never done this I’m passionate about it I’m excited.  I have so much respect for Kelly and Blake and John but they’ve done it. You know? They’ve been here, they’ve seen the show, they’ve come to set, they’ve done it a million years. I’m kind of new and ready to go I feel like I have that hutzpah that they maybe have lost a little bit of throughout the years. Watch out!”
