At 7 p.m. I was backstage at the House of Blues in Chicago for K. Flay’s hometown show. Her drummer Nick, Kristine, my videographer Jenna, and I were pondering if the movie Happy Gilmore was really about golf or hockey. Which went on to create a creative interview.

If you haven’t seen K.Flay live, I can honestly say it’s another experience than just listening to her on your radio or iPod. Her stage presence is phenomenal, she really knew how to use all of the space the stage offered. She kept up her energy and signature headbangs the entire time getting the crowd to bounce and move along with her. At one point she even pulled out a bass and snare drums and did a “battle of the drums” along with her drummer Nick.

Her set was out of this world! I can’t say enough good things about her, her music, and performance. She’s currently in the U.K. with Lights on tour, make sure you get tickets now!
