St. Vincent ‘Flea’ Wins 2025 Grammy For Best Alternative Music Performance
The 2025 Grammy for Best Alternative Music Performance goes to… “Flea” by St. Vincent.
St. Vincent accepted her second Grammy of the evening with this category. “All of the same thank you’s… they apply double. My family and friends I love dearly. Dave Grohl is on this track,” she told the audience at the Premiere Ceremony. “Thank you so much, that’s all I’ve got!” After this award, she ended up taking home her third back-to-back Grammy for Best Alternative Album for All Born Screaming and Best Rock Performance.
The 67th Annual Grammy Awards took place on February 2, 2025, at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, celebrating a diverse range of musical talent. The Best Alternative Music Performance category featured nominees such as Kim Gordon for Bye Bye, along with Cage the Elephant, Fontaines D.C., Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds, and St. Vincent. Last year, Paramore won in this category for “This Is Why.” Meanwhile, the Best Alternative Music Album category highlighted acclaimed artists like Clairo, Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds, and St. Vincent, recognizing their contributions to the genre.
The star-studded event showcased performances from artists across multiple genres, with Billie Eilish, Charli XCX, Chappell Roan, Janelle Monáe, and St. Vincent delivering standout moments on stage. Their unique styles and artistry added to the night’s celebration of musical innovation and creativity.
Beyond the awards and performances, this year’s Grammys also served as a platform for community support, honoring first responders and those affected by the devastating Los Angeles wildfires. The Recording Academy incorporated fundraising initiatives into the event, reinforcing the music industry’s dedication to giving back and making a meaningful impact.
