Robert Urban, Keith Urban’s Father has Passed Away

We post this article with much sorrow, but shortly after Keith Urban announced that his father Robert was placed in hospice earlier this week, we have just found out that he died Saturday night.

People magazine posted part of his statement in which Keith took time to let everyone know how thankful he was for the amount of love he was receiving from his family, friends, and fans.

“I’ve been deeply touched by the outpouring of love and support that [Nicole Kidman] and I, and our family, have received since my Dad’s passing on Saturday night,” the 48-year-old singer said in a statement to PEOPLE. “His long battle with cancer is now over and he is finally at peace. My dad’s love of country music and America set me on my life’s journey, and shaped so much of who I am today.” (People.com)
