After a year and a half of musical silence, Reneé Rapp is officially back. Her new single, “Leave Me Alone”, out May 21st, is the first taste of her upcoming sophomore album BITE ME, out August 1st, 2025 – and Rapp’s done playing nice.

It’s been almost two years since the singer-songwriter’s debut album Snow Angel introduced her as a brand new pop star. Now, she’s older, more cynical, and has things to get off her chest.

Produced by Omar Fedi, Alexander 23 and Julian Bunetta the single mixes unhinged and explicit lyrics with a rough and up-tempo sound. Rapp’s voice carries both vocals precision and loud screams of anger, combined with just enough self-confidence to remind her listeners that she knows who she is – both “a real bad girl and a real good kisser” – and she doesn’t need no one’s opinion on that.

The singer announced her comeback with a 15 seconds teaser on her social medias and released a fake NDA filled with clues about her upcoming project, challenging fans to decode its message and sign it. Meanwhile celebrities like Paris Hilton, Monica Lewinsky, Gabby Windey and Charlize Therone shared pics and videos wearing shirts and caps with “BITE ME” written on it.

Rapp is set to perform her new single at the upcoming American Music Awards on May 26th and is also confirmed as one of the featured artists at the Capital SummerTime Ball on June 15th, at London’s Wembley Stadium.

Written during what Reneé describes as the worst year of her life, “Leave me alone” sounds less like a love song and more like a message of pain turned into self-power. She’s back, she’s loud, and she’s not here to make you comfortable.
