PREMIERE: LAPêCHE’s “Gracie”

By  |

LAPêCHE is an indie-rock four-piece that has consistently penned impactful jams outta Brooklyn, New York since 2016. Fronted by singer-guitarist, Krista Holly Diem, with bassist Dave Diem (Twelve Hour Turn), guitarist Drew DeMaio (Asshole Parade, Floor, Strikeforce Diablo) and drummer Jeff Gensterblum (Small Brown Bike, Able Baker Fox), the close friends compose together, drawing inspiration from both past and present, light and dark, guiding Krista Holly’s provocative melodies and lyrics over their uniquely somber, yet catchy indie-rock. Following their well-received debut album, The Second Arrow, LAPêCHE offers their 2nd EP, Spirit Bunnies. The band again worked closely with J. Robbins, who engineered, produced, played organ and added backing vocals at Magpie Cage Studios in Baltimore. “Gracie” is the first video from the Spirit Bunnies EP, released on Bakery Outlet and Belladonna Records. This 3-song EP still has a melancholy 90’s grit with just the right amount of hopefulness.

“The song is about finding grace in tragedy. We wanted to evoke a melancholy inside a vibrant setting. Along with a nod to our past discovering of 80’s/90’s music videos via MTV and Vh1.”
