Our Exclusive Chat with Temecula Road

By  |

Country cuties, Temecula Road took over our Instagram just last week but we can’t get enough of ’em so we just absolutely had to schedule a chat.

Thank you guys for taking over our Instagram. You seem to have a lot of fun! How have the past few months been for you?
The past few months for us have actually been a lot better than expected. When our tours and shows got canceled, we were pretty bummed out but being able to spend more time at home with our families has been amazing. We started playing livestream shows and collating with other artists, as well as post lots of covers and write over Zoom and FaceTime!

The band also took a year hiatus. How did you grow in that time?
We took a step back from releasing music in 2018. Mostly to make sure the sound was right and that we were loving the music, but also to reconnect with each other as a team and family. At the beginning of that year, we didn’t have each other’s backs and we didn’t prioritize the things that were best for the group. Over that year and even to this day we truly became best friends and wrote music that we loved. “Fades” was the first song back from our hiatus.

Can we expect an EP or even LP soon?
Of course, we will eventually release a fuller length project, but right now we’re focused on releasing singles and building a fanbase through streaming platforms. We’ve got a few ready to drop, plus a few we’re saving for radio!

When was that eureka moment when you realized music was your calling?
The moment we knew we were meant to do this was our first experience in the studio. We were just singing covers, but when the harmonies locked in and we heard our voices together recorded with a real track, that’s when we knew we had something special. The only way to describe that moment was it was simply magical.

The covers ya’ll post are legendary! Do you have a favorite you’ve done?
First off thank you! And of course, some of our favs have been…“I Hope” by Gabby Barrett, “More Hearts Than Mine” by Ingrid Andress, and “Yummy” by Justin Bieber. We love taking songs we love and arranging them like we would if it was our original song to release.

You are signed to Hollywood Records. What is it like being part of the Disney family?
It’s absolutely incredible being apart of the Disney fam! Not only is our team at Hollywood so supportive and on top of things, but we literally grew up watching Disney Channel on TV. So to be connected to that name has forever changed our lives.

How do you manage to stay friends while being in a band?
It’s easy and it’s hard. Naturally, we’re best friends/family so when we’re “working” together it doesn’t feel like work. We are always laughing and having a great time. That doesn’t mean we don’t have our disagreements or arguments. Some days we have a harder time getting along (usually when we’ve spent an extended amount of time together) but in those moments we step back and remind ourselves how much we care for one another and how much we love doing this.

What do you think is going to be the future for live music?
It’s really tough to say with everything going on in the world, but we’re hopeful live shows start up again soon! Preforming is one of our favorite things about being artists, so it was really hard for us to put it all on hold. But we haven’t lost hope and when things start up again, we’ll be right there at the front of the line booking shows!
