Little Big Town Interview On 2021 ACM Awards Performance Without Phillip Sweet and Nomination

By  |

Little Big Town is ready to hit the stage at the 2021 ACM Awards and potentially walk away winners.

The four-piece are nominated for Group of the Year. It’s incredible,” they said of being back at the awards show this year. “The ACMs were the first award we ever won for New Vocal Group. This Award show is always so much fun. Of course, normally we’re in Vegas. But, I’m just happy we can be a part of the show and get to give the fans the spirit of this award show. And maybe next year we’ll be back at it in a normal way.”

Little Big Town’s Can’t-Miss Performance

Finally, Little Big Town will be performing “Wine, Beer, Whiskey.” Unfortunately, member Phillip Sweet tested positive for COVID-19 and will not be in attendance. “We have a very special performance – Something we’ve never done before. Completely different and completely unique to Nashville but we’re going to keep it a surprise. It took us all night long – the first shot was at 3 AM.”

Karen Fairchild, Kimberly Schlapman, Phillip Sweet, and Jimi Westbrook are not only ready to perform but also enjoy music. “Everybody – I’m just glad to see anybody,” they admitted. “I’m excited to see Jack Ingram, Jon Randall & Miranda Lambert. I’m excited to see Lady A – we’re good friends with them. I always like the surprises.”

Meanwhile, Little Big Town expects that the show will bring country music fans together while at home. We need some good, wholesome entertainment. Something that will bring your family together in a positive way – you should tune in Sunday night. It’s a good, family show and it’s good music. Music is something we can all agree on. It gives us hope and sets our heart in the right place.”

Above all, tune in on Sunday, April 18 at 8 PM ET on CBS. The 2021 ACM Awards will be hosted by Keith Urban and Mickey Guyton.
