“Ghost Story” by Carrie Underwood marks a new era for the American Idol alum.

The country superstar released the song on March 18. The track was written by Josh Kear, Hillary Lindsey, and David Garcia. It was co-produced by David Garcia and Carrie Underwood. The song is a unique take on a revenge song, haunting an ex who did her wrong.

“I feel like they just nailed it when they got together to write,” Underwood said of the songwriting trio. “I’ve worked with all those incredibly talented writers a couple of which, I’ve worked with since pretty much the very beginning. I feel like they just know me so well.”
