‘Somewhere’ Surf Mesa and Gus Dapperton Lyrics
Surf Mesa and Gus Dapperton released their collaboration “Somewhere.”
The artists wrote and recorded the song between Los Angeles, Surf’s home base, and Brooklyn, where Gus resides. Gus is featured on BENEE’s hit “Supalonely” and is releasing his album, Orca, on September 18.
The music video follows Surf Mesa’s endless summer vibe. It follows Surf on a day trip to the Southern California desert with members of LA girl skateboard crew GRLSWRL along for the adventure and Loaded Skateboards in tow. Mara Whitehead (DeathbyRomy, Bright Eyes) directed the video and Ben Del Guercio (Bodysnatch) produced.

“Somewhere” Lyrics:
by the stroke of my hand
I’ll never hold you again
go on and save that love for someone
for something
for somewhere
and by the weight of my head
I’ll always drown in regret
you saved that love for someone
for something
for somewhere
I get all tied up
and you’re too tired to break the ties
hands behind my back
and you’re too tired to cut the slack
you say that i’m a mess
whenever i try my best
we both know i’m not the best for you
by the stroke of my hand
I’ll never hold you again
go on and save that love for someone
for something
for somewhere
(somewhere else)
and by the weight of my head
I’ll always drown in regret
you saved that love for someone
for something
for somewhere
I get caught in webs
(with some wings i gotta)
you say i’m too old to play pretend
(with some wings i got)
we can’t make amends
(to fly)
blood and veins filled with constant hatred
you say that i’m a mess
whenever i try my best
we both know i’m not the best for you
by the stroke of my hand
I’ll never hold you again
go on and save that love for someone
for something
for somewhere
(somewhere else)
and by the weight of my head
I’ll always drown in regret
you saved that love for someone
for something
for somewhere
(somewhere else)
and by the weight of my head
I’ll always drown in regret
you saved that love for someone
for something
for somewhere
