Reneé Rapp Unveils Alyah Chanelle Scott-Directed ‘Snow Angel’ Video

What’s an update in the Reneé Rapp world, if best friend Alyah Chanelle Scott is nowhere to be seen?

Just last week, Rapp unveiled Alexander 23-produced “Snow Angel,” the title-track to her debut full-length album.

For the video of the track, Reneé Rapp enrolled best friend and The Sex Lives of The College Girls-co star Alyah Chanelle Scott.

25-year-old Scott has had a busy beginning of the year. After wrapping up Season 2 of Mindy Kaling’s hit series, she went on to play in the Hulu comedy series Reboot. In addition to her acting career, Scott also thrived as a producer with Runyonland Productions. At the 76th Annual TONY AWARDS® last week, the company was awarded the prestigious statuette for Best Revival Of A Musical with Parade.

The “Snow Angel” video, however, marks Scott’s debut as a director.

“my first time directing. what a whirlwind,” Scott shared in an Instagram post. “we had about 5 days to plan this whole shoot. and we shot the entire video in one 12 hour day. somehow i was lucky enough to end up with a crew of people who were all exceptionally generous, committed, and, above all, kind. just a bunch of people saw me, believed in me (more than i did myself), and said yes to every silly little idea i had. i’ll never forget this experience. wouldn’t have wanted it with anyone else”

The gorgeous visual for the song shows Rapp going through a turmoil of emotions before ultimately finding peace within herself amidst a snow-capped forest.

Snow Angel, the album, comes out August 18th, 2023 and is already available for pre-order.
