Jordin Sparks To Make Music Comeback On May 29th

By  |

5 years after her latest album Right Here Right NowJordin Sparks is getting ready to make her big comeback to music!

Although the multi-platinum recording artist, now 30, hadn’t released solo material in a while, she had been using this 5-year hiatus wisely both personally and professionally. The Battlefield singer had been busy raising her now 2-year-old son, DJ, and recording an EP 1990 Forever? with her friend 2x Grammy Award-winning snger/songwriter Elijah Blake when she was cast as a replacement for Jenna Hunterson last year on Broadway’s Waitress.

However, after this long-overdue break from the studio, Sparks is ready for a new era!

The 2007 American Idol winner took to Instagram to announce that her new single, “UNKNOWN” would be out this May 29th, 2020.

“OMGGGG! The beginning of a new era. The ME era,” Sparks shared in the Instagram post. “I don’t even know what to say. I can’t even form complete thoughts or sentences at the moment. Ahsjsksjskwbzjjws But just know, I’M BUZZIN! It’s been a while since I’ve put out solo material but this music that’s coming…it was worth the wait! 🙌🏽🙌🏽”

The long-awaited announcement was met with cheers from long-time fans and friends alike, with actress Francia Raisa commenting “YEAAAAAAAAAS! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 I can’t wait!” and fellow American Idol alumni David Archuleta adding “Can’t wait to hear it!!!” on Instagram.

“Unknown” is already available for pre-order on Spotify & Apple Music.
