Are you ready to learn the lyrics to “Electric Touch” from Taylor Swift and Fall Out Boy?

On Friday (July 7), the 33-year-old released Speak Now (Taylor’s Version), an updated re-recording of her 2010 record. The new album also included new tracks and collaborations including her first official duet with Fall Out Boy. Although the songwriters have not been confirmed, we do know that Aaron Dessner and Swift co-produced the track.

This isn’t the first time that Taylor Swift and Fall Out Boy worked together. They first collaborated at the 2013 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show. The five-piece performed “My Songs Know What You Did In The Dark” together. Additionally, lead singer Patrick Stump served as a special guest during Swift’s Red Tour stop in East Rutherford on July 13, 2013, at MetLife Stadium. The pair performed the same duet minus the other three band members.

Taylor Swift’s Fall Out Boy Influence

In 2019, Taylor Swift revealed to Rolling Stone that Fall Out Boy has been a monumental influence on her production and lyrics. She admitted that for her Lover track, “Miss Americana and The Heartbreak Prince,” her “Fall Out Boy fandom might’ve slipped out in that title.”

Swift noted that the band’s songwriting influenced her lyrically “more than anyone else.”

Additionally, she referenced lyrics from the track “Sugar, We’re Goin’ Down” from the pop-rock band’s 2005 record, From Under The Cork Tree. “They take a phrase and they twist it. ‘Loaded God complex / Cock it and pull it‘? When I heard that, I was like, ‘I’m dreaming,'” she said.

During an interview with Apple Music Beats, Swift recalled a time when she was at “the most emo dinner party.” After collaborating with Brendon Urie on “ME!,” who is touring mates and friends with Fall Out Boy, she was invited to dinner alongside Urie and FOB member Pete Wentz. She was able to ask Went “every single question” about their songwriting.

“Pete Wentz is probably… if I had to pick a favorite lyricist, it’d be a tie between him and Lana Del Rey,” she confirmed. “‘Blank Space’ is a song that’s just zingers, one after another after another, which I definitely learned from listening to Fall Out Boy.”

‘Electric Touch’ Lyrics From Taylor Swift and Fall Out Boy

[Verse 1- Taylor Swift]
Just breathe, just relax, it’ll be ok / Just an hour till your car’s in the driveway
Just the first time ever hanging out with you tonight
I’ve got my money on things going badly
Got a history of stories ending sadly
Still hoping that the fire won’t burn me
Just one time
Just one time

[Chorus- Taylor Swift]
All I know is this could either break my heart or bring it back to life
Got a feeling your electric touch could fill this ghost town up with life
And I want you now, wanna need you forever
In the heat of your electric touch
In the heat of your electric touch
Mmmmm

[Verse 2- Patrick Stump]
I’ve been left in the rain lost and pining
I’m trying hard not to look like I’m trying
‘Cause every time I tried hard for love it fell apart, Ohhhh
I’ve gotten used to no one calling my phone
I’ve grown accustomed to sleeping alone
Still I know that all it takes is to get it right
Just one time
Just one time [with Taylor Swift]

[Repeat Chorus- Taylor Swift and Fall Out Boy]

[Bridge- Taylor Swift and Patrick Stump]
I was thinking just one time (Just one time)
Maybe the stars align (Just one time)
And maybe I call you mine
And you won’t need space
Or string me along when you decide
And just one time (Just one time)
Maybe the moment’s right (Just one time)
It’s 8:05 and I see two headlights

[Repeat Chorus- Taylor Swift and Fall Out Boy]
