The song was born during Bottomland’s first trip to Nashville, where inspiration struck in the writing room. “We walked in with a head full of ideas, just trying to find the one that felt honest,” says Brand. “Cannon brought up flipping the usual heartbreak script—what if the song wasn’t about someone doing you wrong, but about owning up to being the reason they left?”
