LISTEN TO “BONFIRE” HERE.
“You know this is a bad idea,” says Ruby. “But it’s that moment where the spark is already there, and you’re both locking eyes and choosing to lean into it anyway.”
Written by Bryan Ruby alongside Dan Harrison (Dolly Parton, Belles, Clayton Shay, Carson Beyer), Chad Sellers, and Brayden Stewart, and produced by David Axelrod, Adam Sickler, and Ruby himself, “Bonfire” unfolds against a backdrop of dirt dance floors, pallet smoke, and electric summer-night energy. The track captures the tension between holding back and giving in, channeling the thrill of a connection that burns too hot to ignore.
In addition to the new single, Bryan will release his EP, Playing With Fire, on July 17th, available on all streaming platforms. You can pre-save and pre-add the project HERE.
With vivid imagery and Ruby’s signature country storytelling, “Bonfire” simmers with tension before exploding into a massive chorus that captures the thrill of giving in to temptation. Fueled by razor-sharp lyrics and a sleek modern-country edge, including standout lines like “Bet your kiss hits like kerosene / Every word you speak is nicotine,” the track blends gritty storytelling with an electrifying energy built for long summer nights.
