Avril Lavigne Premieres “Head Above Water” Music Video

After a long hiatus from making music all together, and fighting a vicious battle of Lyme Disease, Avril Lavigne is finally back and sharing her story. Following her breathtaking performance on Jimmy Kimmel Live, the singer has now premiered a gorgeous music video for the lead single off her upcoming album.

The visuals explore Lavigne wandering around nature, eventually making it to the ocean, and a beautiful mossy cliff and serene beach. Lavigne captures the beauty and emotion of the song perfectly throughout the visual, and you can see just how important this piece of her story is for the singer.

If this is any indication on the direction Lavigne is going in, we can’t wait to see what else she has in store. “Head Above Water” is her first song in three years, and will be her first LP since 2013. The release date for the new album is TBA at a later date.
