Kelsea Ballerini Interview at The 2021 ACM Awards On Keeping Fan Connection During The Pandemic, Kenny Chesney Duet, and More!
Kelsea Ballerini is ready to give fans a performance to remember at the 2021 ACM Awards.
All About The ACMs
This year Ballerini is nominated for Female Artist of the Year. “I’m thrilled. It was a hard year to navigate how to stay connected to fans and stay creative and the fact that these awards are voted on by my peers and that they put me in the top 5 – it’s really encouraging because I worked really hard to pivot last year and it means a lot to me. Getting nominated – I never think about winning I just think about ‘Do I Get to perform?’ I luckily do this year with my hometown hero premiering our new song together.”
Kelsea Ballerini is set to give the debut performance her new single with Kenny Chesney, “Half of My Hometown” during the show. “This song is really special,” she gushed. “It all happened with a lot of ease – from us writing it to Kenny signing on. The performance is really about the song. I love bells and whistles – I’ve come down from a floating heart at the ACMs before – this is opposite of that. It’s really about Kenny and I telling a story about the relationship of our hometown.”
When asked what she’s most excited for at the ACMs, she said that she is just happy to be there. “I don’t even know who’s performing. I’m excited to see everyone,” she smiled. “I haven’t seen live music in over a year so to see everyone who I’m a fan of and to see them do what they do is a huge treat.”
