Glee Co-Stars Honor Naya Rivera With Charity Drive

This holiday season, the Glee family has teamed up to honour late castmate and friend Naya Rivera.

Kevin McHale, Jenna Ushkowitz, Dianna Agron, Darren Criss, Harry Shum Jr., Matthew Morrison, Chord Overstreet, Vanessa Lengies, Chris Colfer, Heather Morris and more have teamed up to launch a charity drive in honour of Rivera, who was known to throw an epic annual Christmas party dubbed Snixxmas (after her infamous nickname Snixx).

Recently, the young mother had began working with a local non-profit in Los Angeles called Alexandria House. She not only raised and contributed funds for them, but also volunteered her time and effort to the women and children of the organisation.

“The connection I feel with [Alexandria House] and the people who reside and work there has been the biggest blessing and made such a huge positive impact on myself and my son. We truly have found a home away from home through the time we spend volunteering there.”

During Snixxmas, Rivera always found ways to give back, and this is part of what her friends want to honour with #SnixxmasGivesBack. In addition to be making donations in Naya’s name to Alexandria House, the cast has launched a GoFundMe so fans can participate too, with the blessing of the late singer’s family.

“We ask you all to join our effort to bring a little Snixxmas cheer into the lives of those in need,” the friends share in the video. “Donate what you can, so that we can help this wonderful organization continue to provide safety and shelter for the women and children of Los Angeles. If a financial donation isn’t possible for you at this time, that’s fine! Follow Naya’s lead and donate your time. Find a local charity whose mission speaks to you and aligns with your beliefs and lend a hand this season. Start a toy drive in your community! Do what you can do to make a difference.”
