Exclusive: Eda Green Releases Debut Single

By  |

Eda Green is an eighteen-year-old singer-songwriter from New York. A survivor of domestic abuse, Green now calls Los Angeles home where she found her calling in music. With her piercing blue eyes and haunting voice, you certainly will never forget Eda Green.

What is the story behind your new single?
I had been wanting to write this song for a while, there was this little pit in my chest that I hadn’t found the words to describe yet until I spent a night out with friends where I just felt super disconnected to everyone, including myself.

What do you hope listeners take away from the song?
I hope that people take away that they shouldn’t let other people’s opinions (or assumed opinions) make them think that way about themselves. Part of me feels like this song is coming from a point of sarcasm, where you’re taking the power back in that situation.

How would you best describe your sound?
You know when your mom said “if you don’t have anything nice to say then don’t say anything at all”?.. it would be those not nice things, mixed with guitars, drums, mood swings and strings.

When was that eureka moment when you realized music was you’re calling?
I don’t really remember ever having that eureka moment but, I always daydreamed about pursuing it as a kid and gradually started making steps towards it as I got older.

Who would be some of your dream collaborators?
A lot of my dream collaborators are dead but the living ones would definitely be Paul McCartney, Fiona Apple, and Alanis Morissette.

What are some albums that shaped you as an artist?
Top three would have to be The Wall by Pink Floyd, Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band by the Beatles, and Melodrama by Lorde.

Is there opportunity to perform your new music live?
I’m going to start performing my new songs around LA very soon

Can we expect an EP, LP or more singles in the future?
Yes! Soon after I Hate Me Too I’ll be releasing a couple more songs along with an EP.

It’s hard to believe you’re only 18. What is your biggest goal as an artist?
That is definitely a difficult question for me but one of my biggest goals would be to see the world by touring and singing to a bunch of people that relate.
