Camila Debuts New Era With “Shameless” & “Liar”!
Some older fans had been waiting since the release of Camila Cabello‘s debut album last year, some newer had been waiting only for the past few days.
The Latina singer and boyfriend Shawn Mendes took over the charts this summer with their collaboration “Señorita,” and when September came around, Cabello was ready more even more love songs. The 22-year-old spent the week teasing a brand new era on Instagram, and today, she finally released the first two songs of the first installment of her much-anticipated sophomore album Romance.
When she introduced the album with a 3-minute speech about love on August 31, before even dropping the album title, fans knew they were in for a treat, and Cabello didn’t disappoint!
While “Shameless” is a dark synth pop anthem which explores a heavier and more seductive sound, the sax-driven, Lionel Richie-co-writter “Liar” follows the path of Cabello’s successful “Havana,” showcasing the singer’s Cuban heritage.
“These songs are basically the story of my life the past couple years and the stories I’ve accumulated,” Cabello wrote. “I knew for a long time I wanted my album to be called Romance because these stories are about falling in love.”
Later in the day, the young Latina singer took to Instagram to thank her fans for the outpouring amount of support.
