AMAs Recap (In Gif Form)

By  |

Instead of my usual Sunday night bubble bath I decided to watch the red carpet and The American Music Awards.  The red carpet started off great, some amazing fashion.  I was blown away by Demi Lovato wearing a chic old classic Hollywood style.  Nick Jonas wore Drake’s Hotline Bling sweater with a suit, not impressed.  Ariana Grande curled her hair and it looked lovely! Norman Reedus was there and he was looking quite dapper.

The awards started off with host J. Lo dancing to a medley of hits from this year. When Anaconda played the camera went to Nicki who didn’t look impressed.

Prince came out with a guitar and didn’t play it. I was disappointed.

This show was all about Justin Bieber, The Weeknd, Nicki Minaj, and One Direction.

Surprisingly, Taylor Swift was not in attendance and did not win.  SHOCKER indeed.

I was surprised Sam Hunt won for Best New Artist, but SO ecstatic.

5 Seconds of Summer and Selena Gomez got most of the audience dancing.

The band that got everyone moving was Walk The Moon, with cotton candy colored hair!

Demi Lovato performed Confident and a duet with Alanis Morsette “You Outta Know”.  The sass and girl power was real and alive.

Meghan Trainor and Charlie Puth sang Marvin Gaye and my jaw dropped when they started making out for over 5 seconds at the end.  New couple alert?

Coldplay came back and wowed us all.

The Weeknd set the AMAs on fire, literally. Breath was taken away by that performance.

Ariana brought her grandmother and they danced together, cutest moment of the night.

Nick Jonas proved himself performing on piano and drums to Chains, Levels, and Jealous. DNCE (Joe Jonas included) introduced Nick and we couldn’t help but feel like we were in 2005 again.

Pentatonix performed a Star Wars medley that was music to my ears.

One Direction won Artist of The Year, as they embark on their hiatus. Tears.

Justin Bieber closed out the night with Sorry, Where Are U Now, and What Do You Mean in the rain, while dancing.  It did seem like he was lip syncing.

All and all it was a jam packed eventful night with some great performances and memorable moments.
