Annabel Gutherz Shares Emotionally Powerful Track “Remnant” | SRS Premiere

By  |

Tomorrow, Montreal-based singer-songwriter Annabel Gutherz will release her next single, “Remnant.”

“Remnant” is one of the singles from Annabel’s upcoming debut album due out later this year.

The coming-of-age track “Remnant” is emotionally powerful. Annabel is a songwriter who writes from the heart with raw honesty and emotional conviction, amidst a backdrop of Americana-influenced guitar and minimal percussion. With “Remnant,” she explores how friendships change as we move from adolescence into adulthood, using the personal as a bridge into the universal.

‘Remnant’ is a coming-of-age song I wrote when I was in high school. It’s a song about the evolution of a friendship from childhood to adolescence, and how the dynamic between two people can change as they grow… And sometimes grow apart,” Annabel Gutherz shared. “Some friends come into our lives for a reason, a season, or a lifetime. Regardless, the friends that stay and the friends that leave are forever a part of the fabric of who we are. In the case of my friendship that inspired “Remnant,” although we had grown apart, for a long time, we had grown together, and for that, I will always be grateful.

Annabel has spent the past few years honing her craft at Berklee College of Music, and now she’s preparing her debut album, Loose Ends, with a series of captivating single releases. In addition to being a longtime member of Céline Dion’s band, Dominique Messier owns Studio Piccolo in Quebec and co-produced the 11-track retro-rock record. A 2021 release date has been set for the album.
