Foo Fighters Wins Grammy For Best Rock Song ‘Waiting On A War’

The 2022 Grammy for Best Rock Song goes to Foo Fighters for “Waiting On A War.”

The 64th Annual Grammys took place on Sunday, April 3. This year it was held in Las Vegas at the MGM Garden Arena. Before the CBS telecast kicked off, the premiere ceremony took place at the MGM Grand Conference Marquee Ballroom. The pre-show takes place to give out some of the 86 awards.

This award goes to the songwriters of the winning single from the rock, hard rock, or metal genre.

Other Best Rock Song nominees included “Find My Way” by Paul McCartney, “Distance” by Wolfgang Van Halen, and “All My Favorite Songs” performed by Weezer. Kings of Leon’s “The Bandit” was also up for the award.

Beyond the Grammy For Best Rock Song

Current Best Spoken Word Album nominee LeVar Burton hosted the 64th GRAMMY Awards Premiere Ceremony. The event performances from Madison Cunningham, Falu, Nnenna Freelon, Kalani Pe’a, John Popper, and The Isaacs. Current nominees Jimmie Allen, Ledisi, Mon Laferte, Allison Russell, and Curtis Stewart hit the stage.

“I’m excited to host this celebration of the best performers across genres and art forms,” Burton shared. “I am incredibly honored in particular to be represented in the Best Spoken Word category this historic year, with a cohort of five other outstandingly talented Black men, along with the words of the late great Congressman John Lewis.”

During the CBS telecast, numerous A-list performers will take the stage. Country crooners Chris Stapleton, Carrie Underwood, Brothers Osborne, and Brandi Carlile will perform. Two collaborations will take place from J Balvin with Maria Becerra and Lil Nas X with Jack Harlow. Other previously announced GRAMMY performers include Jon Batiste, BTS, Billie Eilish, Cynthia Erivo, H.E.R., Lady Gaga, John Legend, Maverick City Music, Nas, Aymée Nuviola, Leslie Odom, Jr., Ben Platt, Olivia Rodrigo, Silk Sonic, Billy Strings, and Rachel Zegler.
