Mod Sun Celebrates Birthday by Releasing ‘Movie’

By  |

We had the pleasure of being invited to Mod Sun’s Dinner and A Movie event a couple weeks ago. We watched Mod Sun’s visual titled ‘Album’. There’s a twist that not many expect! The entire story wraps you in, keeping your eyes locked wondering what will happen next.

Watching the excitement Mod Sun had while ‘Album’ was about to start, and even during the entire run was unforgettable. So why is March 10th so important?

March 10, 1987 – the day Mod Sun was born (Happy Birthday Mod!)

March 10, 2017 – the day Mod Sun releases his album titled ‘Movie’ and his visuals titled ‘Album’.

It’s always amazing to see how far creativity can take you. Mod Sun incorporates his artistic point of view into his music and it shows right away with every project he releases. ‘Movie’ is compiled of eleven tracks and five of them have features!

The first track “Previews” is an intro to the entire Mod Sun experience leading up to the first full song “We Do This Shit” ft. Dej Loaf. The beat for this track makes one want to go out and have a good time. The fun doesn’t stop there, “She Just Wanna Dance” the third track of ‘Movie’ keeps the vibrations high. “You Are” featuring Mansionz ( Mike Posner and Blackbear) is a smooth roller coaster with Mod Sun’s rap, Blackbear taking the chorus AND then Mike Posner coming in for a break down. The fifth song “Beautiful Problem” featuring gnash and Maty Noyes starts off with Noyes’ gorgeous vocals giving it a magical effect and gnash adding his own touch with his calming voice. “Two” produced by Mike Dupree is the perfect follow up to “Beautiful Problems” because it starts speeding things up again, a perfect track to transition onto an even more upbeat track “WWYGADT” which is an acronym for Why Would You Go And Do That. The eight track “Smoking What I’m Smoking On” feat. D.R.A.M. and Rich The Kid continues the musical adventure and leads to “Spent All My Money” feat. Blackbear which could easily become a fan favorite. “Make Somethin’ Of Yourself” is one of those songs one has to just listen to, every lyric and every word. Mod Sun gets personal in each verse. The eleventh track, which is the last and final act of this movie is titled “The End Or Start Again“. This track ties everything together, an upbeat track with strong lyrical content.
