Macy’s always has the best in fashion, events, staff, and taste.  Macy’s Glamorama is held every year in cities across the United States, this being the 31st year of the event.  This year appearing in Chicago, Minneapolis, San Fransisco and Los Angeles. Every year they always chose the best up and coming designers paired with the hottest music. This year they have Macy’s iHeart Radio Rising Star Contest Winners Before You Exit along with Jason Derulo.  Designers included Hello Kitty, Weekend Max Mara, Ryan Seacrest Distinction, Calvin Klein, Tommy Hilfiger, and Diesel.

So what could make this event sweeter you ask? The proceeds benefit a worthy cause, this year’s being The Ronald McDonald House of Northwest Indiana and Greater Chicagoland Area. Ryan Seacrest started off the night via video introducing the event and giving us background on Macy’s and Ronald McDonald House. Then a video popped up of one of the residents from right here in Chicago.  Her name was Samantha, not even a teenager and dealing with cancer.  Samantha along with her father, mother, and sister live there while Samantha is not admitted in the hospital for treatment.  Something that caught my attention was her mother saying that Ronald McDonald house kept their family, a family.  Needless to say I became a fan of this non-profit and am so happy they are benefiting from this event; great call Macys!

The night started off with Tommy Hilfiger which made inside of The Harris Theater snow! Yes, snow! Hello Kitty stole the show with their incredible dancers that couldn’t be over twelve years old with moves I could only dream of doing! They also threw in tumbling skills with their comfortable yet fashionable outfits.

Bohemian Rhapsody started playing to Diesel underwear clad men.  All of the ladies hollered while I sat there singing along.  Before You Exit, winners of Macy’s iHeart Radio Rising Star Competition took the stage to perform their single “Dangerous”.  Ryan Seacret’s line “Distinction” was very classy for men, I am a fan!  Jason Derulo brought down the house with “In My Head” to start things off.  He went into his two current hits “Wiggle” and “Talk Dirty To Me”.  The models came out and danced to “Talk Dirty To Me” and had the crowd singing along!

They did a great job of blending pop culture, music, fashion, and a worthy cause together wrapped up in one unforgettable night. The only disappointing part of the event was when it was over. I would recommend buying a ticket for next year and having a fabulous night helping those in need.
