Icelandic Rock Band KALEO Electrifies Lowell’s Boarding House Park
KALEO kicked off their Mixed Emotions Tour at Boarding House Park on August 3rd as part of the Lowell Summer Music Series in Lowell, Massachusetts.
You may know them from their hit song “All the Pretty Girls” and the TikTok-fueled anthem, “Way Down We Go.” Their songs have even appeared in TV shows like Orange is the New Black, Grey’s Anatomy, The Vampire Diaries, Riverdale, Suits, Teen Wolf and the Blacklist.
As the band stepped on stage, a wave of applause erupted from the jam-packed crowd in downtown Lowell. Beach chairs were back to back and picnic blankets abundantly covered every open patch of grass. Fans gathered in every available spot – from the beer garden to the neighboring parking garage. Everyone was eager to catch a glimpse of the Icelandic rockers under the golden sunset.
Reflections of sunrays danced on the guitar of lead singer, JJ Julius Son. Onlookers swayed and sang and clapped their hearts out. The scent of a crisp summer night lingered with every passing breeze.
The band performed a multitude of songs off of their latest release, Mixed Emotions, including “Bloodline,” “USA Today,” and “Lonely Cowboy.” Their latest single, “Back Door” was also on their setlist.
It’s not often that you come across an artist – or group – that sounds better live than they do on their recordings, but KALEO is that rare exception. With raw and powerful vocals, frontman JJ Julius Son showed the audience exactly how it’s done. Oozing confidence and dripping with talent, KALEO’s set was both electrifying and showstopping. It wasn’t just a concert – it was an experience.
If you have the opportunity to see KALEO live on their Mixed Emotions Tour I highly recommend you take it.
