FLETCHER And Hayley Kiyoko Tease New Collaboration “Cherry”

By  |

Talk about the collaboration of the year! LGBTQ+ singer-songwriters FLETCHER and Hayley Kiyoko have released a short clip teasing a new collaborative track titled “Cherry.”

“should i announce a secret on tik tok?” FLETCHER had tweeted early in the afternoon on Tuesday, November 2. “wasn’t supposed to yet but i’m too excited”

Following her fans’ obvious overwhelmingly positive response, the singer proceeded to upload a 28-second clip on her TikTok page, featuring none other than Hayley Kiyoko.

“So I made a song with someone,” FLETCHER says at the beginning of the video before Kiyoko pops onto the screen. In the rest of the short clip, the pair proceeds to announce they made a song together titled “Cherry,” before playing and singing along to a snippet of the song. Although the duo has yet to announce a release date for their collaboration, fans are hoping they won’t have to wait too long.

Unknowingly to their fans, the pair had already teased their collaboration on TikTok five days ago, by posting videos of themselves listening to the other’s music with the caption “comment 🍒 if you want [us] to collab.”

Both FLETCHER and Hayley Kiyoko have spent the last few years being unapologetically themselves and releasing songs about loving women, quickly becoming role models for young LGBTQ+ people across the globe seeking accurate representation in the music industry.

The pair had chatted on Facebook Audio Live earlier this year, on August 20th, 2021 as Kiyoko kicked off her Safe Space series, a series of artist-to-artist conversations on navigating challenges, identity, intersectionality and representation in music and entertainment.
