Penned by Michael August (Craig Morgan’s “How You Make A Man,” Aaron Goodvin’s No. 1 Canadian country hit “Boy Like Me”) and Elysse Yulo (Quavo & Lana Del Rey’s “Tough,” Zach John King, Maddox Batson), “Suede” captures the spirit of an album built on growth, self-discovery, and embracing every layer of who you are.
“Suede can be described in a million different ways. It’s strong yet soft, durable yet delicate, flexible yet grounded, all while having a texture that’s completely its own,” shares Kinsey. “That’s exactly how this album feels to me. As my first independent release and my debut album, Suede reflects every side of who I am as an artist and a person. It’s layered, honest, and unapologetically me.”
At its core, Suede captures the stories, emotions, and experiences of navigating your mid-twenties. Anchored by driving guitars, punchy drums, warm instrumentation, and Kinsey’s unmistakable vocals, the project embraces the beautiful contradictions of growing up. It’s an album about finding yourself in uncertainty, celebrating life’s firsts, and realizing that the messy moments are often the most meaningful.
Throughout the project, Kinsey explores new creative territory while remaining true to the authenticity that has defined her artistry. The album features her first male duet, “Say I’m Wrong” featuring Dylan Marlowe, her first true love song, and her first Texas country-inspired track. It also includes her previously released fan favorite, “House Arrest.” While each song offers a different perspective, they are all connected by the same thread: Erin Kinsey’s honest storytelling. The title track perfectly encapsulates the album’s balance of strength, vulnerability, and individuality.
Kinsey first captured audiences’ attention with her 2022 debut EP, 40 East, introducing a fresh perspective that quickly resonated with listeners. Since then, she has amassed more than 130 million career streams, building a devoted fanbase through songs that blend sharp songwriting with authenticity and undeniable charm. Her latest EP, Gettin’ Away with It, includes viral favorites “I Ain’t Crazy” and “Matchmaker,” which have collectively generated more than 80 million social media views.
Beyond her own artistry, Kinsey has established herself as an accomplished songwriter with cuts recorded by Dolly Parton, Rita Wilson, Jordin Sparks, Monica, and Sara Evans. She has also taken the stage at the Grand Ole Opry and is currently on the road supporting Alana Springsteen as they tour across Europe, with stops in Dublin, England, Norway, and more, continuing to bring her music to audiences around the world.
With Suede, Kinsey steps confidently into her next chapter, delivering an album as multidimensional as the material that inspired its title and as authentic as the artist behind it.
