Dan + Shay Show Chicago Off
You can bet all the traditional crowd favorites were played off their debut record, Where It All Began. ‘Party Girl’, ‘First Time Feeling’, ‘Stop Drop and Roll’, ‘19 You + Me’ and the latest single, ‘Show You Off’, were all being belted, not only by the guys, but often times overshadowing the duo. Man, does Chicago know their Dan + Shay songs. Dan and Shay both acknowledge the large sing-back volume several times throughout the show.
We were surprised at the number of covers thrown into the show! Things got steamy quick when glasses were raised and the sounds of Def Leppard’s ‘Pour Some Sugar On Me’ echoed throughout the building. Later followed by Bruno Mars’s ‘Just The Way You Are’. The southern men can cover every genre in one night.
The night got a little humble when they decided to thank everyone who had been on their journey. The newly signed artist managed to do so in the presence of most of their label executives who were in attendance. When you’re signed to a record label like Warner, you can’t help but smile.
But, let’s be real. We can’t talk about Dan + Shay without mentioning their band. Most of which you have seen on our site before. The country musicians have an All-Star lineup including former members of A Rocket To The Moon. What makes this band so great is the fact that the boys encourage them to be themselves. When bassist, Dustin was brought to center stage to show off his dance moves, you know it’s all about surrounding yourself with good people.
Stage Right Secrets is excited to see where this talented group ends up next. After all, this is our fourth time covering their show. The level of fun, difficulty, and musicality increases with each performance we see.
Make sure to check out Dan + Shay’s latest single and video, “Show You Off” which you can now vote for on CMT top 20 countdown.
Thanks to the folks at Warner Music Nashville allowing us to attend this monumental moment for them.
