ALBUM REVIEW | Alfa – Non so chi ha creato il mondo ma so che era innamorato (DELUXE)

By  |

24-year-old Alfa, born Andrea De Filippi, is one of Italy’s rising pop artists and his latest album shows exactly why.

Mixing pop and rap, Alfa writes about love, growing up, and finding yourself. Partly recorded in Los Angeles, his latest project Non so chi ha creato il mondo, ma so che era innnamorato (DELUXE)which translates to “I don’t know who created the world, but I know they were in love” – is poetic and sweet and perfectly reflects Alfa’s signature style.

The singer-songwriter opens the album with the two title tracks “Non so chi ha creato il mondo“, a blend of ethereal synths and soft guitars, and “Ma so che era innamorato”, where heartfelt lyrics explore the topic of past love.

Tracks like “Il mio colore preferito“, “Vabbe ciao“, “Ma tu come stai“, “Come il sole” and the Sanremo hit Vai! produced by Ian Scott, Mark Jackson and Andrea Debernardi on the base of One Republic‘s “Run“, set a lighter tone full of energy and bright sounds with cheerful guitars and upbeat rythm.

Released in October 2024 “Il filo rosso”, a song about the famous Chinese “red thread” theory, sold over 100.000 copies and was certified Platinum, reaching number one on the Italian music charts for weeks.

In contrast, the interlude “Frida“, “Tante mila volte“, “Sofia </3“, “Anna“, the closing track “Metti a posto” and the sweet lullaby “Dormono tutti” slow things down. These songs have a soft-pop base, and even if the verses rhyme, the tone stays intimate and gentle.

Alfa’s collaboration with French singer-songwriter Manu Chao,A me mi piace” – the Italian version of “Me gustas tú” – quickly became a big and fresh summer hit. The song reached number one on Spotify Italy and was the most played song on Italian radios for weeks.

It also became popular in other European countries, helping the singer to reach many new fans around the world. The music video got millions of views on YouTube.

Starting this June in Campobasso, Italy, Alfa will be on tour to promote his album throughout the summer, with an additional leg in the most famous italian arenas in the winter. He will also perform in some European cities such as Barcelona, Paris, London and more as part of a limited international tour.
