Bridgit Mendler Quietly Releases Surprise EP
Former Disney-actress turned singer/songwriter turned space tech CEO Bridgit Mendler surprised all of her fans by quietly dropping an EP full of old unreleased songs.
Titled Once Again…, the EP dropped last Friday (June 5) without any prior announcement from Mendler.
Featuring priorly unreleased songs, the EP seems to have been written and produced right around the end of 2016 / beginning of 2017, when Mendler released her last EP to date, Nemesis.
Back then, the plan had been for Mendler to release more music, but that venture had stopped mid-2017, after releasing a couple more singles, “Temperamental Love” featuring Devontée, and “Diving” with American group RKCB.
The newly-released six-track EP features some songs that Mendler performed on the Nemesis tour, which ran across the United States from November 15th, 2016 to April 7, 2017.
Bridgit Mendler, now 33, is featured as the sole artist on the project, being credited as the songwriter, composer, vocalist, and studio producer on all six tracks.
Although we doubt this means Mendler is ready to step back into music, we’re very glad we’re able to enjoy the studio versions of those tracks while she and husband Griffin Cleverly continue growing Northwood Space, a space tech company aiming to make communication easier and faster between satellites and Earth.
