Jelly Roll on Meeting Ozzy Osbourne and 2026 Grammys Tribute

Jelly Roll sang the late Ozzy Osbourne’s praises at the 2026 Grammys.

Although Jelly Roll’s tribute to Ozzy Osbourne wasn’t broadcast or held during the main telecast, it was quite a hot topic. Jelly performed The Prince of Darkness’ classic hit, “Mama I’m Coming Home,” during the Clive Davis pre-Grammy party. During the press conference after Jelly’s impressive 3 Grammy Award wins, he spoke about the performance and what Ozzy means to him.

“Another man who wore his faith quietly,” he said of the late rocker. “But you could see it all over him. The cross is everywhere. I aspire to be a there’s not a kid that grew up in the 90s that didn’t think they were Ozzy Osbourne at least once in their life in their bedroom.”

“What I can say, is not even the performance, I cherish the relationship [with the family],” he continued. “The fact that I got to do it when he was inducted in the [Rock and Roll] Hall of Fame that night, I got to sing it. I consider Kelly and Jack, they called [sic] me a brother now. To feel like I’m the fourth Osbourne is really cool. I love Sharon. She is just an absolute gangster. You know what I mean? She is the kind of woman… just a powerful woman. So, God bless the Osbourne family and rest in peace, Ozzy, baby.”

How Jelly Roll First Paid Tribute to Ozzy Osbourne

On October 19, 2024, Ozzy Osbourne was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. In an All-Star tribute, Jelly Roll performed “Mama I’m Coming Home” alongside Billy Idol, guitarist Zakk Wylde, Tool’s Maynard James Keenan, and Metallica’s Robert Trujillo.

“Who doesn’t love Jelly Roll?” Osbourne told Rolling Stone prior to the tribute. “His voice is soulful, pure, and dirty. I’m so honored that someone would do this for me who I’ve never had the pleasure of meeting.”

Ozzy and Jelly met after the performance, with Jelly sharing a group photo of him alongside the other artists. After Ozzy’s passing, Jelly wrote, “Forever grateful. Thank you for everything.”
